Swimming With The Sharks

Monday, August 10th, 2009

Blue Ion’s very own Mike Henry has quietly been serving as a volunteer diver at the South Carolina aquarium for a few years now. Besides the few posts he’s put up on the blog, there’s been scant mention of these bi-weekly excursions – until now.
Last Monday’s edition of the “Bluffton Today” features Mike on the [...]

More Pecha Kucha Night Photos

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

PKN kicked off last night with a bang, thanks to an amazing presenter line up, a group of sponsors who “set the stage,” a small army of volunteers and a great crowd. Plans are underway for a second session in January. In the meantime here are some more photos from last night….courtesy of photographer Diana [...]

TroopTube

Wednesday, November 12th, 2008

Ran across an interesting story last night about a new video network called TroopTube. It was born out of a May 2007 edict from the DOD banning YouTube from being viewed by soldiers and Marines on the job.

Rogers & Brown Hero Story

Friday, October 17th, 2008

We recently added a cool little case study to the Rogers & Brown website. Back in May they were asked to move a 240-ton reactor from Oklahoma to Louisiana….and pulled it off without a hitch despite the challenge of heavy flooding from Midwestern storms. Here’s the story.

My New Friend

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

Quite happy about a new lappy. Hit the Apple store today to check out the new MacBook line. And that’s like going to the pound to hold a puppy, you just have to take it home. The fun continues with the opening of the box…no one does packaging like Apple. The new MacBook is very [...]

Blue Ion 1.0

Friday, October 10th, 2008

Something equally frightening. I was just running through a folder of pics and came across this oldie from ye olde days. This was Blue Ion HQ back at the turn of the century….basically a converted supply closet with no windows or air. While the digs were spartan, the ideas and energy were grand. Poor Eliza….our [...]
