Let It Snow

Monday, January 4th, 2010

While watching the news this morning, the local weatherman said we have a slight chance for snow flurries overnight Thursday. If you can’t wait that long, here’s a chance to see yourself dusted with snow.
Full credit goes to Grant Skinner and a link I had saved in my browser from 2005. Click allow to [...]

Internet Annoyances

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

There’s been a couple things annoying me recently on the internet, and I thought I’d take the time to pass along some tricks that I’ve learned and others have shared to help restore my sanity.
YouTube Annotations
These absolutely drive me up the wall. All I wanted to do was watch a music video. Why on [...]

Faces in the Crowd

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

There was some brief coverage by the various news sites late last week on the new Microsoft store that opened in Arizona. Being future residents of a space above an Apple store, naturally we took note. I found a couple photos of the grand opening. As with any unstaged macro shot of a group, there’s [...]

App Wall

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Saw a cool article on AppleInsider this morning from their coverage of WWDC 2009. We’ve got 5 iPhone users in the office, plus one iPod Touch owner (could be one more, but BD is holding out and sticking with his dinosaur Treo for now… we’ll see how long that continues once we move into the [...]

Passive Aggressive Spoons

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

The pointed politics of spoon ownership outlines the results of dirty dishes and stolen cutlery in your typical passive-aggressive office environment.
This post struck a little close to home: I had more than a fair share of office flatware in my own house until finally returning them.
Here’s one more fun example. We haven’t resorted to graphical [...]

Elf on the Shelf

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

It works like this: the elf makes his appearance around the holidays (or earlier, depending on [...]

Charleston Windpower

Friday, November 14th, 2008

As I was walking with BD and RY down King on the way to our regular Friday lunch spot, we hit the Calhoun/King Street intersection that seems to consistently have 20mph winds rocketing down the street towards the water. In light of Santee Cooper’s recent announcement that they will begin installing testing stations for [...]

Pecha Kucha Night

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

Had a lot of fun last night at the inaugural Charleston Pecha Kucha. The atmosphere was great (free beer always helps) and the speakers did an awesome job. Came away feeling really good about the local creativity scene. Personal favorites were DJ Brady, Quashie, and Jacob Lindsey. It was a solid showing all around.
Great [...]
