Calling All Bicyclists

Do you ride a bike in Charleston? Even better, do you use your bike to commute to work or run errands? If so, we’re interested in learning more about your favorite (or not so favorite) routes around town. And why are we interested?

Well, an enlightened collaboration between The City of Charleston, its Design Division, and Charleston Moves is launching a new program to help make our city a safe and fun place to ride.

The program is called People Pedal, and it starts with a Downtown Bike Survey that will help identify the most used cycling routes downtown. From there, recommendations for improvements will be made and implemented.

People Pedal will kick off with a celebratory event held here at Blue Ion, on March 18th. You’ll find all the info on the invite, and please note that People Pedal wants attendees to bring their laptops and tablets so they can fill out the bike surveys on the spot.

And speaking of invites, a hearty tip of hat to Mr. Connor Lock, aka Awesome Santa, for the sweet event graphics and poster. You can check out Connor’s stuff at SEVEN.
